Devblog #3 - Stormbringer Attacks


The AI and actual attacks for my first boss, Stormbringer, are now for the most part done and ready. Still need to do actual modelling, animation, and effects for everything, but for now the simple models are enough to let me test out the behaviour and feel of the game. As I worked on this part of the game there were tweaks to the original concept because after trying it out I realised the actual difficulty of the fight if I used my initial ideas. I still need to fiddle with the numbers and tweak things as I play it out more and see what works best.

Now I need to work on making the game look and feel decent before I go on to add a second boss. For this step I'm planning on keeping the UI minimal, and so it's just going to be a player health bar and the boss health bar. Then I'm going to create an arena for the fight to be in that will be along the lines of a traditional gladiator arena, but with some sci-fi themes to it.
